General Rules and Policies
- Court Access & Usage: Access is limited to designated areas of the Cincinnati Open Sporting Club. Guests and members do not have access to the full Lindner Family Tennis Center unless expressly authorized. Areas outside the Sporting Club footprint may be restricted at all times.
- Check In: Members must check in on the Cincinnati Open Sporting Club mobile app or at the front desk located in the Midwest Racquet Sport Shop before using the facility and pay appropriate fees.
- Court Reservations: Court reservations must be honored; late arrivals or no-shows may forfeit court time.
- Attire: Proper tennis or athletic attire is required. Non-marking, flat-soled shoes are mandatory to prevent damage to court surfaces.
- Conduct: Good sportsmanship, courtesy, and respect for others are expected. Improper behavior may result in suspension.
- Food/Drink: No food or sugary drinks are allowed on the courts; water in enclosed containers is permitted.
- Equipment: Only authorized equipment (racquets, balls) is allowed.
Reservations & Cancellations
- Booking: Court reservations are required. All bookings are 1.5 hours.
- Cancellation: Cancellations for lessons or court time must be made 8 hours in advance. Failure to do so may result in suspended privileges or additional fees.
- Priority: Scheduled club events, tournaments, or league matches will take priority over general open play.
Guest Policies
- Accompanied Guests: Guests must be accompanied by a member or sign in as a non-member participant.
- Fees: Guest fees vary by membership type.
Safety & Liability
- Assumption of Risk: Users play at their own risk, and the club is not responsible for injury or lost property.
- Children: Children under the age of 18, must be accompanied by an adult and must be supervised at all times.
- Smoking/Alcohol: Smoking and tobacco products are forbidden on club premises. There are designated smoking areas outside the club.
- Weather: Outdoor court availability is subject to weather conditions. Management decisions regarding weather closures are final.
Weather Policy
Once a storm is determined to be in the vicinity (15 miles) of the Cincinnati Open Sporting Club, the facility will determine if lightning is present with the incoming storm.
- If lightning is detected within 8 miles of the facility, staff members will stop all play on the courts and ask members, guests, lessons, clinics and academy players to vacate the court.
- Facility staff has the sole authority to assess weather severity and proper action. No one is permitted to remain on the courts or around the grounds during a weather event after being asked to vacate.
- The Cincinnati Open Sporting Club will use weatherops.com to determine lightning strikes and distance.
- Once lightning is detected within 8 miles no play will resume for 15 minutes or as long as lightning stays within 8 miles.
In the event of rain with no lightning:
- Once rain begins, facility staff will have the sole determination regarding the safety and playability of the courts.
- The Cincinnati Open Sporting Club will post “courts unplayable” on the member homepage during weather delays.
Venue Policies
- Outside food and beverage are not permitted.
- All events must be booked in advance and comply with capacity limits.
- Decorations, entertainment and vendors must be approved by the Cincinnati Open Sporting Club team.
- Pets are not permitted on campus, except service animals.
- The campus is tobacco-free.
- Alcohol consumption is permitted only in designated areas and in accordance with Ohio law.
- The Sporting Club may photograph or record activities for promotional purposes.
- Personal photography is permitted unless it disrupts play or privacy.
